Classic Finnish Gladiators
The original series of Finnish Gladiators (Gladiaattorit) ran for 3 series on MTV3 from 1993 until 1994. The show was directed by Hollywood director Renny Harlin, produced by Markus Selin, and filmed at Planet FunFun, an indoor amusement park located in Kerava, Finland.
It was hosted by Juha-Pekka 'JP' Jalo alongside Katariina Ebeling and Minna Aaltonen.
Finland competed in the American Gladiators International Challenge Of Champions 2 with their female Contender Minna Karhu winning the show.
Gladiators Salama (Flash) and Terminaattori (Terminator), plus a selection of the best Contenders, represented Finland in the first International Gladiators series filmed in Birmingham, England, in 1994.

Finnish Gladiators Revival
In 2017 it was announced that after 23 years Gladiaattorit would be making a sensational return to Finnish TV screens for a new series on Nelonen. The series was hosted by Heikki Paasonen and recorded at Tampere's Tähtiareenalla.

It was announced that Gladiaattorit would return to its roots in 2019, on its original channel MTV3. Hosted by Viivi Pumpanen with Antero Mertaranta as the commentator and legendary original Gladiator Mika 'Mohikaani' Ounaskari returning as the event expert.
